International Friendship Cup

Rules

The tournament will be played under FIFA rules, modified by the following changes below:

  1. All games will be considered FINAL and NO protests will be allowed.
  2. The Rules Coordinator will settle all disputes.

DURATION OF GAMES:

Preliminary Games Two (2) 30 minute halves – no overtime
Quarter Finals Two (2) 30 minute halves – no overtime, Tiebreaker (FIFA, PK)
Semi Finals Two (2) 30 minute halves – no overtime, Tiebreaker (FIFA, PK)
Championship Games Two (2) 30 minute halves – no overtime, Tiebreaker (FIFA, PK)

PLAYERS:

All players must wear matching soccer uniforms and the same jersey number which is listed on the roster.  If a player wears a different number than the one on the roster, the team will forfeit the game. If the team colors are the same, the Home team must change.  Home teams are listed first on the schedule. THE HOME TEAM PROVIDES THE GAME BALL.

RED CARD(S):

A player ejected (red card) from the game will be suspended for the duration of the game and the following game or games, depending on the referee’s report.  A second red card offense on the same player, they will be banned from the tournament and disqualified from playing.

YELLOW CARD:

Any player who receives a yellow card can continue playing in the game.  A second yellow card will equal a red card and the player will be ejected from the game and suspended for the duration of the game and the following game.

CONDUCT:

Any player or team official (i.e. Coach, Manager, Trainer, etc.) who verbally or physically attacks the referees, assistant referees or tournament officials will be banned from the tournament and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

SUBSTITUTION:

There will be unlimited substitutions

  1. On the goal kick
  2. At the half time
  3. When a goal is scored
  4. Injury
  5. Player is receiving a card(s)
  6. On any stoppage by the referee’s discretion
  7. On a throw-in by team with possession, opposing team can sub as well

GAME TIMES:

All teams must be ready to compete at the assigned scheduled time at the designated field.  There will be a 5-minute grace period. Teams will forfeit their games if they do not have a minimum of seven (7) players within the allotted time.

POINTS SYSTEM:

Win 3 points
Tie 1 point
Loss 0 points

PRELIMINARY TIE BREAKERS:

  1. Goal Differential
  2. Team with most goals scored
  3. Head-to-head
  4. Coin toss

AGE QUALIFICATIONS:

OVER 35
  • Players must be 35 years or older (born on or before 1983)
  • Each team can have a total of five (5) players between 30 and 35 (1988 – 1983)
  • Each player will be issued a wristband upon verification of their age with valid ID
OVER 40
  • Players must be 40 years or older (born on or before 1978)
  • Each team can have a total of five (5) players between 35 and 39 (1979 – 1983)
  • Each player will be issued a wristband upon verification of their age with valid ID
OVER 48
  • Players must be 48 years or older (born on or before 1970)
  • Each team can have a total of two (2) players between 45 and 47 (1971 – 1973)
  • Each player will be issued a wristband upon verification of their age with valid ID
OVER 55
  • Players must be 55 years or older (born on or before 1963)
  • Each team can have a total of two (2) players between 52 and 54 (1964– 1966)
  • Each team can have a total of ten (10) non-Iranian players
  • Each player will be issued a wristband upon verification of their age with valid ID
International
  • Each player will be issued a wristband upon verification of their age with valid ID

Acceptable forms of Identification:

  • US or Canadian Driver’s License (expired identification WILL NOT be accepted)
  • US or Canadian Passports
  • US or Canadian Photo ID Cards

No other substitutes will be accepted.

ROSTERS:

Teams must submit their roster prior to their first game and are able to make changes to it BEFORE their first game.  After the start of the game ALL rosters are considered FINAL.  Teams are allowed a maximum of 22 players total. Players who are on the Final roster can sign in at any time during the tournament.

IDs and Wristbands:

Over 30-40-48-55-International:  Players must also complete a “Player Form” with their name and jersey number along with a copy of their valid ID (passport or driver’s license only) attached to it to receive a wristband to play.  They MUST have their form and ID with them to check in at the tournament and keep it with them should any official wish to verify it.  If it is deemed that the copy provided and the original are not the same, the player will be banned from playing in the tournament and the team will forfeit the game.  All players must use the same jersey number for the duration of the tournament.

No player shall play with two teams in the same division.  They can play up a division or down a division (as long as they meet the various age requirements for the division and there is room on the team’s roster).  Should a player be caught playing for two teams in the same division, they will be banned from playing in the tournament and the teams they were playing for will forfeit the game(s).

NO ALCOHOL

THIS IS A PUBLIC PARK AND ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED ON THE PROPERTY
(FIELDS, PARKING LOT OR ANYWHERE ELSE)

NO SMOKING ON THE FIELDS / IN PARKING LOT

RESPECT THE SPEED LIMIT – THE AREA IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

NO DRIVING CARS ONTO THE FIELDS AT ANY TIME
