2025 International Friendship Cup Rules
The tournament will be played under FIFA rules, modified by the following changes below:
- All games will be considered FINAL, and NO protests will be allowed.
- The Rules Coordinator will settle all disputes.

Preliminary Tie Breakers
- Goal differential

Players
All players must wear matching soccer uniforms and the same jersey number which is listed on the roster. If a player wears a different number than the one on the roster, then the team will face possible forfeiture of the game. If both teams playing have the same color jerseys, then the HOME team must change. Home teams are listed FIRST on the schedule. THE HOME TEAM PROVIDES THE GAME BALL.
NOTE: We recommend that all teams bring an extra set of shirts in case there is a color conflict.
Rosters
All teams are allowed up to twenty-two (22) players on the roster. Player rosters must be submitted no later than one (1) hour before the team’s first game. Players listed on the roster cannot be modified or changed.
Yellow Card
Any player who received a yellow card can continue playing in the game. A second yellow card will equal a red card and the player will be ejected from the game and suspended for the duration of the game and the following game.
Red Card(s)
A player ejected (red card) from the game will be suspended for the duration of the game and the following game or games, depending on the referee’s report. A player who receives a second red card will be disqualified from playing in the tournament.
Conduct
Any player or team official (i.e., Coach, Manager, Trainer, etc.) who verbally or physically attacks the referees, assistant referees, or tournament officials will be banned from the tournament and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Substitutions
There will be unlimited substitutions:
- On the goal kick
- On the half-time
- When a goal is scored
- Injury
- Player is receiving a card(s)
- On any stoppage by the referee’s discretion
- On a throw-in by team with possession, opposing team can sub as well
Game Time
All teams must be ready to compete at the assigned scheduled time at the designated field. There will be a 5-minute grace period, though the referee may make the final decision. Teams will forfeit their games if they do not have a minimum of seven (7) players within the allotted time. THE LATE TEAM WILL FORFEIT THE GAME.
DIVISION AGE QUALIFICATIONS
- The players must meet the age requirements within the calendar year of the respective division they are playing in.
- Ages will be verified via VALID, GOVERNMENT ISSUED PICTURE IDs (e.g., Driver’s License or Passport) and will be scanned for legitimacy. Wristbands will be given to each eligible player.
- Expired IDs will not be accepted. Those not eligible will not receive a wristband.
- Younger players will receive TWO (2) wristbands.
- All players must be always wearing their wristbands. If a player rips or loses his/her wristband, then there is a $5.00 replacement fee. Note that the valid, government-issued, picture ID will need to be verified again to issue the replacement wristband.
- Open/Coed divisions do not get wristbands.

Zama Cup Field Rules
NO FIGHTING
Player/teams will forfeit their games and face disqualification from the tournament should this occur.
NO ALCOHOL
This is a city field and alcohol is strictly prohibited on the property – fields, parking lots and all other city property and premises, including anywhere else in the great park and surrounding area.
NO FOOD
No food is allowed on the playing fields.
NO SMOKING
No smoking on the fields/parking lot.
NO LITTERING
No littering -- use the trash cans provided. We are all adults and can pickup after ourselves.
NO DRIVING
No driving onto the fields or sidewalks at any time.
